    Solarflare Appoints VPs


    Irvine-based Solarflare, which develops 10 Gigabit Ethernet semiconductors, said this morning that it has promoted Martin Porter to Vice President of Software Development, and named Danny Shamlou as its Vice President of VLSI Design. Porter was previously software director at the firm, and has also served at Conexant. Shamlou joins the firm from Starport Systems, and also has been at Mindspeed and Conexant, where he served in engineering and general management roles. Solarflare develops chips used for transmitting 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper cabling.
