Geodelic Wins Clear Channel
Santa Monica-based Geodelic, the mobile application development firm run by Rahul Sonnad, has signed up Clear Channel's airport division, Clear Channel Airports, the companies said today. According to the two, the firms have create a new, location-based mobile app called FLYsmart, which will provide information to air travelers about services and amenities in terminals, arrival and departure information, news, and more. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. The companies said the new application is available for free download on the iPhone now, with Android and BlackBerry versions slated for later release. The app initially supports airports in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago O’Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco and Seattle. Geodelic is venture backed by Clearstone Venture Partners, MK Capital, and Shasta Ventures. Sonnad is best known for his prior success at thePlatform, which he founded and sold to Comcast back in 2006.
