HopSkipDrive Gets $37M In Series D

Los Angeles-based HopSkipDrive, which provides school transportation using private vehicles operated by screened caregivers, said on Tuesday that it has raised $37M in a Series D funding. The funding came from Energy Impact Partners, Keyframe Capital, FirstMark Capital, Alumni Ventures, Transform Capital and others. The company said it will use the funding for expansion of its school transportation efforts across the country. HopSkipDrive is led by co-founder and CEo Joanna McFarland. The company says it is providing school transportation for over 400 districts in 12 states, including Seattle Public Schools and Denver Public Schools. The company originally got its start providing an Uber-like service that transported children for parents using qualified child caregivers, but switched its model a few years ago to focus on schools.
