Ingram Micro Buys The Phoenix Group

Irvine-based Ingram Micro said on Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired The Phoenix Group, a distributor of point-of-sale (POS) technology of the US and Canadian market. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Ingram Micro said the buy would help strengthen its presence in the payments ecosystem. The Phoenix Group offers up point-of-sale technology and repair services for such companies as VeriFone, Ingenico, MagTek, RDM, PAX and TechTrex. The Phoenix Group had its headquarters in St. Louis, Mo., and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
