Internet Brands Takes On Zillow
Los Angeles-based Internet Brands said today that it has launched a new, online home valuation tool. The new tool, part of its RealEstateABC.com division, provides a Web 2.0-style, online home valuation tool. The tool comes on the heels of the launch of Zillow.com, a Seattle-based startup that has gotten lots of attention for its online home valuation site. Internet Brands is tapping Google's AJAX Mapping service for its own version of a home valuation site, compared with Zillow's use of a flash-based tool and NAVTEQ. RealEstateABC's tool adds the ability to hone what homes are used to derive recent values, allows for adjustments to the price based on the market conditions, and information about home improvement, views, and lot information.
