Language Weaver Names Tapling CEO
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver said today that it has named Mark Tapling as CEO of the firm. Tapling joins the firm from InfoGenesis, where he was President and CEO. Tapling has also served at Everypath, and ServiceWare, where he led that firm's IPO. Tapling replaces founder, CTO, and interim chairman Daniel Marcu, who was interim CEO for the firm. Marcu had replaced CEO Bryce Benjamin last year in an unannounced move. Language Weaver is a developer of automated translation software based on statistical translation techniques; the firm is a spinout of the University of Southern California.
