LightPointe Ships Free Space Optics Equipment
San Diego-based LightPointe (www.lightpointe.com) has announced a new product based on the company's free-space optics technology. The company's new optical wireless product is 802.af, Power over Ethernet-compliant and can provide up to 100 megabits of full duplex Ethernet capability over 500 meters. The company's products are used to connect corporate networks without the need for traditional wired connections. LightPointe is backed by Huawei Technologies, Silicon Valley Bank, Sevin Rosen, and others.
