Masimo Rolls Out Wearable Device At Apple Stores

Irvine-based medical device maker Masimo, best known for providing its pulse oximeters in the healthcare and medical devices market, is making a crossover into the retail wearables market today, saying that it has launched a new device at the Apple Store. According to Masimo, it has launched MightySat, a fingertip pulse oximetr which connects to iOS devices, at and select Apple retail stores in the US and Canada. The new product is being aimed at general wellness and health applications including sports, fitness, and relaxation management, according to the company. The company said its new device provides measurement of oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse rate, and perfusion index (PI) for users, based on the technology used in its hospital grade products. Pricing on the product was not announced.
