IOGEAR Adds Bluetooth Printing
Irvine-based IOGEAR announced earlier this week new Bluetooth-enabled USB peripherals which allow users to share printers wirelessly using Bluetooth computers or PDAs. The company's new Bluetooth USB Print Adapter or Bluetooth USB/Parallel Combo Print Adapter connect to any USB or Parallel printers up to 330 feet away via a wireless card.

Gateway Axes More Employees
Poway-based Gateway reports that it is axing 1500 more jobs in its quest to enhance the efficiency of the firm, which recently combined with eMachines. The announcement came as the company announced a loss for the quarter. Gateway had just announced the closing of its retail stores and an associated layoff. This round will bring Gateway's total employees to around 2000. Novatel Wireless Moves to Nasdaq
San Diego-based Novatel Wireless announced that it is raising $65.9M in an equity offering and moving to the Nasdaq, from its previous position on the Nasdaq SmallCap Market. Novatel provides wireless broadband access solutions.

Google Files $2.7B IPO, Exposes Applied Semantics Financials
Google's long awaited IPO was filed yesterday, headed by an unusual "Owner's Manual" from the founders of the company and a condemnation of speculation on IPOs. The unusual filing also showed the numbers behind the search engine giant, which had earnings of $105M on an astounding $961M in 2003, and $389M in revenues for the most recent quarter--from a company that had only $220K in revenue in 1999.
