Fox Rolls Out Widget SDK
Los Angeles-based Fox Interactive Media announced today that it has rolled out a new platform for web sites to integrate content from Fox's content sites, including IGN.com, FOXSports.com, and local Fox stations. The firm's new SpringWidgets platform comes from a new division from Fox Interactive Media, FIM Labs. The application programming interface also allows developers to build their own widgets for blogs and other websites. Napster Mobile Launches In Japan
Los Angeles-based digital music service Napster said today that the firm has launched its mobile service in Japan. Napster said that its mobile over-the-air song and ringtone service is now available on NTT DoCoMo's iMode mobile internet service, expanding Napster's service in the country into the mobile arena. Napster has been offering PC-based music subscription services in Japan last month with Tower Records Japan. The new service is available for approximately $3 per month.

Access Retail Gets Series A
Los Angeles-based ACCESS Retail Entertainment said today that it has changed its name to Access 360 Media, and raised a Series A venture round from Bessemer Venture Partners. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. The firm also apointed Lon Otremba as its president. Access 360 Media operates an in-store entertainment network targeted at young adults, used for advertising brands. Otremba was previously CEO of Muzak and EVP of AOL's Interactive Marketing Group.

Fonality Upgrades IP-PBX
Los Angeles-based open source IP PBX firm Fonality has released the newest version of the firm's PBX software. Fonality said that it has released the latest version of the firm's PBXtra IP-PBX and associated applications. New features in this release include branch office support, voicemail to email, click-to-call, VoIP support, and more advanced call management, among other features. Simula Launches Open Source Marketplace
Marina Del Rey-based Simula Labs announced this morning that its hosted, open source distribution delivery platform is now available. The firm's CoRE Network allows enterprise users to evaluate and suscribe to open source projects. The subscription-based service allows companies to download tested, version-controlled and indemnified version of open source projects. Broadcom Unveils Portable Power Solutions
Irvine-based semiconductor maker Broadcom has rolled out new power management products for the mobile handset and portable device market. The firm announced today that its new system-on-a-chip power management units are targeted at managing power consumption in mobile devices. The firm's BCM59001 PMU is part of the firm's portfolio of semiconductors targeted at mobile devices manufacturers.
