Yahoo, ABC Extend Content Agreement
Yahoo's Santa Monica-based media unit said today that it has expanded a video content agreement it has with ABC News. The two will increase the amount of video available to Yahoo, and make ABC's videos more visible on Yahoo's site. According to Yahoo, the deal calls for additional features and interviews, including video from Good Morning America. The deal is an extension of an agreement between the firms from September of last year.

DIRECTV, IFILM In User-Generated Content Promotion
El Segundo-based satellite television provider DIRECTV and IFILM are targeting the user generated video space, with a new promotion. The two said they are launching a online amateur video competition focused on sports shorts. The companies are looking for amateur videos of sports, which will be featured on the IFILM online site and DIRECTV. Viewers will also have the chance to win a trip to a football game in 2008 and other prizes.

Xirrus Adds Wireless Shaping Technology
Westlake Village-based Xirrus, a provider of Wi-Fi arrays and access points, said yesterday that it is shipping new technology in its products that helps to shape RF coverage. The company said that the new technology helps to limit coverage of Wi-Fi networks for better security and performance. Xirrus said its RF shaping capability controls the transmit power and defer thresholds of each sector of its Wi-Fi array, which allows for better utilization and higher data rates. Docufide Partners With Educational Integrator
Los Angeles-based Docufide, a provider of electronic transcript services for high schools, announced Tuesday that the firm has partnered with Integrity Technology Solutions, an integrator of software for the SIF standard. Integrity provides SIF integration to K-12 and post secondary educational institutions. SIF is a standard being used by schools for data exchange of transcripts and other student record data. Irvine-based Autobytel, a provider of online automotive marketing services, has appointed a new board member. The firm said Tuesday afternoon that Jeffrey M.
