St. Bernard Software Gets Credit Line
San Diego-based St. Bernard Software, a provider of security products for the small and midsize business market, said Thursday that it has received a $4M credit facility from SVB Silicon Valley Bank. The deal includes a $2M revolving line of credit and a $2M term loan. St. Bernard Software is a provider of Internet email filtering services and appliances, used by businesses to filter out spam and other unwanted messages. Broadcom Wins ITC Ban On Qualcomm Chips
The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has ordered that certain Qualcomm chips used in cellular phones infringe on Broadcom patents, and should be barred from importation into the U.S.. The ruling, which was announced Thursday afternoon, came as part of a patent dispute between Broadcom and Qualcomm over cellular baseband chips. XCOR Aerospace Gets Seed Funding
Mojave, California-based XCOR Aerospace, a firm developing suborbital vehicles, said Thursday that it has received an investment from the Boston Harbor Angels. Amount of the funding was not disclosed. XCOR said that the funds will support development of its new suborbital vehicle. The investment is the company's first angel investment. ViewSonic Names CFO
Walnut, California-based ViewSonic, a manufacturer and marketer of monitors, LCD displays, and other display products, said Thursday afternoon that it has named a new Chief Financial Officer. Ted Sanders has joined the firm, replacing James Morlan, the firm's current CFO. Morlan is retiring and will remain through June to help assist with the transition. Revver Shuffes Execs
Los Angeles-based Revver, the online video sharing web site, announced Thursday evening that it has appointed Kevin Wells as CEO, and that current CEO Steven Starr will become chairman of its board of directors. Wells has been Chief Operating Officer of the firm since last September. Revver said that Starr will continue to provide strategic direction and serve as spokesman for the firm. German Firm Takes Stake In Source Scientific
Irvine-based Source Scientific LLC, a firm that provides design, development, and manufacturing of medical devices and laboratory instruments, said this week that German firm BIT Analytical Instruments has acquired a 50 percent equity investment in the firm.
