Interview with Steve Robinson, Panache
Last week, Los Angeles-based Gorilla Nation and Encino-based Panache (www.panachetech.com) inked a deal to use Panache's video technology for pre-roll and other video advertising. We hadn't heard of Panache before, so we decided to talk to the company about what it does and where it fits into the video advertising market. Steve Robinson, CEO of Panache sat down with us to help us understand the need for the company's technology, and how it came about. Steve spoke with socalTECH's Ben Kuo.

Strix Deploys In Netherlands
Calabasas-based Strix Systems, a developer of wireless mesh networking systems, said today that it has deployed its systems in Groningen, the Netherlands. Size and financial deals behind the deployment were not disclosed. Strix said that its systems will be used in a pilot of a city-wide wireless mesh network. The system is being deployed by Unwired Holdings, a wireless broadband operator, supported by Alcadis, the European distributor for hardware from Strix.

QLogic Loses CFO
Aliso Viejo-based storage networking equipment manufacturer QLogic said Monday afternoon that Tony Massetti, the firm's Senior Vice President and CFO, has resigned. QLogic said that Massetti will resign upon completion of the firm's fiscal third quarter earnings announcement, in late January 2008. No reason for Massetti's departure were given. Ixia's Asscher Retires, Ginsberg Named Chair
Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of network testing systems, said Monday afternoon that its Chairman, Jean-Claude Asscher, has decided to retire. Ixia said that Errol Ginsberg, founder and CEO of Ixia, will become Chairman of the board of the firm effective January 1st. Ixia said that it has also named Asscher Chairman Emeritus of its board of directors in recognition of Asscher's contributions as a founder and director of the company. Play N Trade Names CEO
Newport Beach-based Play N Trade Franchise, which operates a retail franchise for video games, said this morning that it has named Roger Lloyd as CEO of the firm. Lloyd replaces Yuvi Shmul, who remains on the firm's board of directors. Lloyd was msot recently co-chief operating officer for the company. Play N Trade's retail stores sells new and used video games.
