Demand Media Buys Food WebsiteLos Angeles-based Demand Media, the social media firm headed by former MySpace chairman Richard Rosenblatt, has acquired another vertical web site, The Daily Plate. The Daily Plate provides diet information, calorie counting, forums, and other content around dieting and eating. Gorilla Nation Targets Midsize WebsitesLos Angeles-based Gorilla Nation is targeting mid-sized websites with a new service, the firm announced Wednesday. Airgain Hires Sales VPCarlsbad-based Airgain, a developer of smart antennas, said today that it has hired on Alan Frank as the firm's VP of Worldwide Sales. Frank joins the firm from Semtech, where he was Director of Western Sales. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Yellowpages.com Appoints PresidentLocal Web search service Yellowpages.com reported Tuesday that it has appointed David Krantz president. Krantz will work from Yellowpages.com's headquarters in Glendale. He succeeds Charles Stubbs, who Yellowpages.com said is leaving to pursue other interests.
