SheKnows Acquires ChefMom
Los Angeles-based SheKnows.com, an online operator of a number of web sites focused on women, said today that it has acquired ChefMom, an online web site focused on cooking and recipe exchange. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. ChefMom provides recipes, interactive shopping lists, how-to-guides, and articles all focused on helping mothers prepare meals. EMRISE Buys RF Component Firm
Rancho Cucamonga-based EMRISE Corporation said Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Advanced Control Components, a New Jersey-based supplier of high performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave devices for the military, aerospace, and other markets. RotoHog.com Names Stark CTO
Los Angeles-based RotoHog.com, an online fantasy sports firm, said Wednesday that Michael Stark has joined the firm as Chief Technical Officer. Stark joins the company from YouBet.com, where he was SVP Engineering & Technical Operations. Stark has also previously served at Edenet Communications, Vertel, BELLSOUTH, and NCR/Teradata. Rotohog operates an online fantasy sports site which offers football, baseball, basketball, hockey, auto racing, golf, and soccer.

MySpace Taps Google For Gears Technology
Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace said today that it has linked into search engine firm Google by using the firm's Google Gears software for its email services. MySpace said it has enhanced MySpace mail using Google Gears, which is Google's open source project that adds new features into web browsers. Where 2 Get It Gets Win With Razor
Anaheim-based Where 2 Get It, a provider of online product locators for finding retail products, said today that the firm has been selected by Razor, the manufacturer of the Razor scooter. According to Wher 2 Get It, Razor will use its product locator technology to find retaielrs in their neighborhood which carry their products. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. JuiceCaster Adds Geotagging
Los Angeles-based Juicecaster said today that it has added new geotagging support for the firm's mobile social networking service. JuiceCaster said that pictures and videos that are send from its service now will automatically include location information. The new feature--initially available on Qualcomm BREW devices--automatically includes where photos and videos were taken. Provide Commerce Buys Red Envelope
San Diego-based Provide Commerce said late Tuesday that it has acquired San Francisco-based Red Envelope, an online gift retailer. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Provide Commerce, which runs the ProFlowers, Secret Spoon, Cherry Moon Farms, and Shari's Berries online retail sites, said that it acquired the assets of Red Envelope following a bankruptcy auction yesterday. Provide Commerce will assume full ownership of Red Envelope on June 23rd.

Abraxis BioScience Names CFO
Los Angeles-based Abraxis BioScience said today that it has named David O'Toole as the firm's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. O'Toole joins the firm from Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he was a Partner in the firm's Strategic Client Group. O'Toole has served at Deloitte for the past 16 years. Abraxis said that it's current CFO, Lisa Gopala, has resigned to join a philanthropic venture fund. Abraxis BioScience is a biopharmaceuticals development firm.
