NTN Buzztime Buys Assets of iSports
Carlsbad-based NTN Buzztime, which develops interactive games for restaurants, sports bars and pubs, said Friday that it has acquired the assets of iSports, a provider of sports and entertainment content, sports scores, and news. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. iSports founders Nick Glassman and Kartik Ramachandran join NTN Buzztime as part of the deal. Geni Enhances Service
West Hollywood-based Geni said this week that the firm has improved the firm's site, which allows users to create family trees and network with family members. The firm said that it has enhanced the ability to find duplicate profiles in the service, with automatic advanced searches when users view a profile. The service said that the new capability will help its users see how many matches there are, whether or not those are connected or not connected to a users. IMS Company Buys Flight Deck Resources
Brea-based IMS Company, a manufacturer of in-flight portable entertainment players and related products, said Friday that it has acquired Flight Deck Resources, a provider of hardware for flight deck management on airplanes. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. According to IMS, Flight Deck Resources will become a new division, which will be known as IMS Flight Deck. Santa Barbara-based InTouch Health, a developer of telepresence robots for the healthcare market, said this week that it has named Gerry Popolow as the firm's Vice President of Clinical Services and Account Management. Network Hardware Resale Names CFO
Santa Barbara-based Network Hardware Resale, a provider of used networking equipment, said earlier this week that it has hired on Andrea Greene as its Chief Financial Officer. Greene joins the firm from Allied Capital, one of the investors in Network Hardware Resale; Greene was previously on Network Hardware Resale's board of directors. Greene has also served at JPMorgan Partners and CIBC Oppenheimer.

Qualcomm's FLO TV Lands Amanda Congdon On Mobile Series
San Diego-based FLO TV, the subsidiary of Qualcomm which operates the FLO TV mobile TV service, has inked a deal with popular video blogger Amanda Congdon on a mobile effort. According to FLO TV, Congdon will create original, mobile content from her video blog for the firm's service. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Congdon is best known for her work on Rocketboom. The new mobile offering will be based on video segments from Congdon's current "Sometimes Daily" effort.

Bluebeam Rolls Out Free PDF Viewer
Pasadena-based Bluebeam Software, a developer of software for creating PDF files from architectural and engineering designs, disclosed Thursday that the firm has rolled out its own free, secure PDF viewer. Bluebeam said its new PDF viewer -- Bluebeam PDF Revu Standard Edition -- was a response to recent security attacks and issues with Adobe's popular Adobe Reader PDF viewer.
