SVnetwork Reaches 30 Million Users On SocialVibe via Causes
Los Angeles-based SVnetwork said today that it now has over 30 million monthly users using its cause-marketing platform SocialVibe, via its partnership with the Causes.com web page and Facebook app. SVnetwork said those users are helping to raise money for over 11,000 charities around the world. EdgeCast Adds Streaming For Apple iPhone
Santa Monica-based EdgeCast Networks, which operates a content delivery network (CDN), said Thursday that it has added support for full HTTP streaming for Apple iOS 4 devices, such as the Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The firm said it supports both on-demand and live streaming of video to those devices, including support for intelligent dynamic streaming, which adjusts for connection speeds.

Conexant Names Chittipeddi COO
Newport Beach-based semiconductor maker Conexant announced Thursday afternoon that it has named Sailesh Chittipeddi as President and Chief Operating Officer. Chittipeddi was most recently co-president of the firm, and has been at the company since 2006. The firm said that the additional role gives him worldwide responsibility for engineering, operations, quality, and marketing.

Amgen Gets FDA Approval On Bone Drug
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen said Thursday that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Admnistration (FDA) approval on its denosumab treatment for reducing fractures and other bone problems in cancer patients. The new drug will be sold under the name XGEVA. The new drug is being used to prevent complications which happen when cancer spreads to the bones. The Amgen drug is also marketed for treating ostereoposis under the name Prolia.
