3E Acquired By New Jersey Firm
Carlsbad-based 3E Company, a provider of services for the environmental health and safety (EH&S) market, has been acquired by a New Jersey firm, Verisk Analytics. According to Verisk, it is paying $110M to acquire 3E, with closure of the deal expected sometime this month. 3E's Bob Christie will continue to lead the firm. 3E provides EH&S compliance products, which are used as part of the supply chain and product management process, including managing material safety data sheets.

SpaceX: Analyzing Two Cracks Ahead Of Launch
Hawthorne-based SpaceX said Tuesday that it is analyzing two small cracks at the end of its 2nd stage, engine nozzle extension, as it decides whether or not it will attempt a launch on Wednesday. The firm--which had planned to launch its demonstration flight for NASA today--detected one of the cracks Monday, and was looking at repairing or replacing the parts. LeisureLink Wins Vacation Internationale
Pasadena-based LeisureLink, which provides software and services to help vacation rental operators manage their distribution, has signed on timeshare resort firm Vacation Internationale as a customer. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Vacation Internationale managed 34 resorts across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. BioIQ Simplifies Wellness Service
Santa Barbara-based BioIQ, the diagnostic testing and screening service provider headed by Justin Bellante, said Tuesday that it has simplified access to personal health records on the site. The firm--which offers up home test kits and screening to employers and health plans--said it now allows users single-click downloads for its test results from its health dashboard. Fallbrook Technologies Gets $39M
San Diego-based Fallbrook Technologies, a developer of transmission technology, said today that it has raised $39M in a Series E preferred stock placement. Fallbrook said the new round brings its total raised to approximately $95M since 2000. The new funding came from Macquarie Capital Markets Canada, Sustainable Asset Management, and Ningbo Shentong Auto Decorations Co., Ltd. World of Warcraft Cataclysm Hits Stores
Irvine-based Blizzard Entertainment's latest World of Warcraft sequel, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, hit stores at midnight early this morning, Blizzard said. The title is the third expansion of Blizzard's massively multiplayer online role playing game. Blizzard said the expansion costs $39.99, and that it is also offering up a collector's edition with bonus items for $79.99.

SpaceX Launch Delayed Until Wednesday
The demonstration launch of Hawthorne-based SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket has been delayed until no earlier than Wednesday, NASA said, due to a crack in the engine nozzle of the rocket's second stage. NASA said that SpaceX is looking at either repairing the crack, or shipping a replacement part from California. The crack was discovered Monday. THQ, ngmoco Ties On Star Wars Title
Agoura Hills-based THQ said today that it has tied with mobile game developer ngmoco, on a new Star Wars title, Star Wars Imperial Academy. THQ said that the new title will run on iPhone and iPod touch. Financial details of the publishing deal were not disclosed, however, THQ said the two firms will develop and co-publish the title together. The title is being developed by THQ subsidiary THQ Wireless; THQ holds the license to the Star Wars brand in the videogame market.

Peregrine Semiconductor Boosts Board Ahead Of IPO
San Diego-based Peregrine Semiconductor--which recently filed for an IPO--is bolstering its board of directors, saying Monday that it has added two new members of its board. The firm said it has added Carl Schlachte and Anthony (Tony) Thornley to the board. Schlachte is CEO and Chairman of Ventiva Corporation, and is Chairman of MOSAID.
