OnGreen Plans Chinese Investment Roadshow
Los Angeles-based OnGreen, the online marketplace for clean technology deals, said Monday that it is planning to give away trips for five CEOs to a Chinese investment roadshow it is running in June. The firm said the trips are part of a plan to connect Hong Kong and Jiangsu Province investors with companies seeking investment capital. Avatar's James Cameron Boots Up New 3D Technology Firm
3D filmmaker James Cameron of Avatar fame announced Monday that he has launched a new, technology firm based in Burbank focused on creating 3D technology. According to Cameron, he has launched the CAMERON - PACE Group with fellow 3D technology developer Vince Pace, which will focus on new camera systems, services, and other related tools for the 3D market. Google Invests $168M In Mojave Power Plant
Search engine giant Google announced Monday afternoon that it is investing $168M in a plant in Mojave. According to the firm, the investment will go towards a solar energy power plant, the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System (ISEGS) being developed by Brightsource Energy. Google said it has invested over $250M in the clean energy sector. Apriso Lands Cummins
Long Beach-based Apriso said Monday that it has landed manufacturer Cummins Inc. as a customer. Financial details of the win were not announced, however, Apriso said that Cummins has standardized on the firm's FlexNet software as its enterprise manufacturing execution system. Apriso's others customers include GM, Volvo, Honeywell, and others; the firm is venture backed by Brentwood Venture Capital, CMEA, LogiSpring, SAP Ventures, and WallStreet Technology Partners.

Nirvanix Targets Iron Mountain Customers
San Diego-based Nirvanix, the cloud storage firm, is targeting customers of Iron Mountain, after Iron Mountain said it will stop offerings its own cloud storage services. Nirvanix said over the weekend that it will offer free data migration services to Iron Mountain customers who want to migrate to the service, plus 30 free days of unlimited storage. Boingo Drops UK, Ireland Pricing
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, the operator of a global network of Wi-Fi access points, said this morning that it has lowered pricing on its UK and Ireland access plan. The firm said it reduced pricing by 20% for its unlimited Wi-Fi plan. The firm said it is aiming at consumers in the country looking to get past expensive roaming prices for mobile broadband service. Boingo said it has added nearly 120,000 more hotspots in the region since its launch a year ago in the UK and Ireland.

Zumbox Scores New Zealand Post
Westlake Village-based Zumbox, the digital postal delivery service headed by John Payne, announced this morning that it has scored a licensing deal with New Zealand Post. Zumbox said that the postal service has licensed its platform to develop market offerings to provide mailers and consumers a way to digitally deliver and store postal mail. RealD In Deal With Avid
Los Angeles-based RealD, the developer of 3D movie projection technology, announced this morning that media editing technology firm Avid has licensed its RealD format. financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. RealD said that its technology has been integrated into Avid's Media Composer video editing system.

NanoH2O Bolsters Execs
Los Angeles-based NanoH2O, the clean technology startup developing reverse osmosis membranes for water desalination, announced this morning that it has hired Randy Truber as Director of Global Sales Strategies. The firm, which is headed by technology vet Jeff Green, and based on research out of UCLA, said that Truby will bolster its commercial team. THQ's RIO Debuts On April 12th
Agoura Hills-based THQ has set the launch date for its new series of videogames based on the RIO movie. The firm said it will debut its new RIO video game on April 12th, on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS. THQ and Twentieth Century Fox announced the games in February.

GreenScreen Animals Gets Funding, Hires PriceGrabber Exec
Los Angeles-based GreenScreen Animals, a firm developing a library of digital animal footage and stills for Hollywood, announced this morning that it has received a Series A funding round. MabVax Therapeutics Gets SBIR Grant
San Diego-based MabVax Therapeutics, a biotechnology firm developing cancer treatments based on vaccine and antibody based therapies, said this morning that it has received $1.8M in a Phase 2, Small Business Innovation Research award. The award came from the National Cancer Institute. The SBIR grant is broken up into an initial grant worth $150,000, a second year award of $974,000, and a third year worth $878,000. The firm said the funding will go towards a Phase II clinical trial.

AWR Expands In China
