SpaceX Docks With ISS
In a resounding success for Southern California spaceflight firm SpaceX, the firm's Dragon capsule successfully docked and was bolted to the International Space Station at 12:02 p.m. EDT this morning, according to NASA. SpaceX, the brainchild of technology mogul Elon Musk, was able to launch its module into space using its Falcon 9 rocket, delivering food and clothing to the International Space Station in a historic mission. Quest Software Eyed By Dell
Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software is in discussions with Dell about an acquisition, according to reports today. No details on the discussions have been released, however, BusinessWeek said that Dell is mulling an acquisition of Quest, which is already in the midst of a $2 billion, going-private deal with Insight venture Partners. That deal was announced in March. Quest is a provider of enterprise IT management software.

SpaceX Dragon Meets With ISS In Successful Grapple
Hawthorne-based SpaceX, the commercial spacecraft firm headed by Elon Musk, is set to make more history today as the firm was successfully grappled by an arm on the International Space Station, in preparation for docking with the ISS. SpaceX's Dragon capsule was captured by the ISS Friday morning, in the process of docking the Dragon with the ISS. SpaceX is the first commercial spaceflight company to reach the ISS. Astronauts on the ISS are in the process of connecting the Dragon with the ISS.

Sonos Snags Ex-RIM Sales Chief
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, the user-friendly developer of whole-home music and sound systems, has apparently snagged a new, high profile sales chief--the former Executive Vice President of Global Sales of Research In Motion, the maker of the Blackberry smartphone. According to multiple reports, Patrick Spence, who recently resigned from RIM, is taking the Chief Commercial Officer post at Sonos. SheKnows Powers Site For Patti Stanger
Los Angeles-based SheKnows, the online women's publishing community and site which is part of Evolve Media Corp.'s AtomicOnline unit, reports today that it is powering a new web site for Patti Stanger, best known for hosting Bravo's The Millionaire Matchmaker. SheKnows said that they are helping to launch Stanger's official site, PattiKnows, which will feature daily content from Stanger, video diaries, and other features. SurfAir Closing In On $14M Funding, Says Report
Santa Monica-based SurfAir, the startup airline headed by Wade Eyerly which is part of the Muckerlab accelerator, is closing in on $14M in its first funding round, according to reports today. Shopatron Signs Cycling Products Firm
San Luis Obispo-based Shopatron, a provider of e-commerce software and services, reported Thursday that it has signed on VSI Products, which manufactures a range of products for cycling brands. Shopatron said it will be launching seven online stores for VSI, including sites for brands Intense BMX, THE, Sinz, Speedco, Vigor, EYE and ITS. Financial impact of the deal was not announced. RightSignature Integrates With Google Drive
Santa Barbara-based RightSignature, the provider of online electronic signature software headed by Daryl Bernstein, reported yesterday that it has integrated with Google Drive, Google's file storage and collaboration software. RightSignature said that the integration allows users of Google Drive to send documents stored in the service for an e-signature through its service. The firm said it took it less than 24 hours to integrate the two cloud services.

Sangart Raises $50M
San Diego-based biopharmaceuticals firm Sangart has raised $50M in a Series G funding round, the company announced Thursday, bringing its total venture funds raised to $280M. Sangart, which is developing biopharmaceuticals to treat hemorrhagic shock injury, said the new funds came from existing investor Leucadia National Corporation. The firm said the funding will go towards advancing development of its medicines, which are currently in Phase 2b studies.
