SideCar Debuts Ridesharing App In LA
Need a lift, but don't have a car? Ridesharing app SideCar is the latest, peer-to-peer, smartphone-driven, ridesharing app to debut in Los Angeles, letting people find drivers willing to give them a ride around the city. SideCar--which quietly launched February 15--said it has begun accepting rides city-wide, teaming up app users with drivers who are willing to give other people a lift around town for a donation. Amgen's Kevin Sharer Joins Healthcare Venture Capital Firm

Peregrine Semiconductor Licenses Technology To Murata
San Diego-based radio frequency chipmaker Peregrine Semiconductor said Monday afternoon that it is in a intellectual property deal with Murata. Peregrine said it is in the midst of a collaboration agreement with Murata, where Murata would design and manufacture RF switches and other switch-related components utilizing its technology and intellectual peroperty. Nero Debuts New Photo Sharing App
Nero, the developer of consumer video, photo, and media software management products which bases its U.S. operations in Glendale, has rolled out a brand new product to help users share photos on their iPhone and iPad. Nero said its new NeroKwik software for iPhone and iPad allows users to share their photos across the web, Facebook, Google+, iOS, and Android, via its mobile photo sharing service. Nimble Offers Software For Free To Startups
Nimble, the developer of customer relationship management software, said today that it has launched a program for startups, which will offer up a free year of its service. The Los Angeles startup said it has teamed with over 50 startup accelerators to offer up 12 months of its 2 user, 100GB service for free, something it normally charges $1800 for. SpaceX Berths Successfully With ISS
Hawthorne-based SpaceX again successfully docked with the International Space Station on Sunday morning, at 8:56 a.m. EST, after overcoming thruster nozzle issues on Friday. SpaceX, headed by Elon Musk, is in the midst of its second, official mission to resupply the International Space Station. SpaceX launched its latest mission of Friday morning, delivering 2,3000 pounds of cargo the ISS, and expected to return over 3,000 pounds of cargo on March 25th.

The Gores Group Buys GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing
Los Angeles-based private equity investor The Gores Group announced this morning that it has completed the acquisition of GE Healthcare STrategic Sourcing, from GE Healthcare. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing is based in Wilbraham, Mass., and provides electronic billing and electronic medical records outsourcing. As part of the acquisition, Gores Group said it has appointed Rob Gontarek as the new CEO of GE Healthcare Strategic Sourcing.

Qualcomm Life Ties With WebMD
San Diego-based Qualcomm said this morning that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Life, has joined with health information site WebMD. According to the companies, the two have linked to enable consumers to access and manage their wireless health data from fitness, wellness and medical devices. Life Technologies Licenses Stem Cell Technology From Harvard
Carlsbad-based Life Technologies, the developer of life sciences tools and equipment, said today that it has signed a collaborative research agreement with Harvard University.
