MomentFeed Links Into Facebook's Preferred Marketing Developer Program
Santa Monica-based social analytics software developer MomentFeed announced this week that it has been accepted into the Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer (PMD) Program, Facebook's program for linking with companies who develop technologies in the advertising, page management, social integration, and tool areas for the social networking site. DTS Play-Fi Gets iOS Support
Play-Fi, the wireless speaker line from Calabasas-based audio processing developer DTS, has added compatibility with iOS devices, the company announced Thursday. According to DTS, its wireless audio streaming product now provides support for iOS, Android, and Windows PCs, using standard, Wi-Fi signals. DTS acquired the wireless streaming technology behind Play-Fi last year, when it acquired audio products developer Phorus. Upfront's Latest Investment, Deliv, Aims To Help Mall Retailers Win Online
Los Angeles-based venture capital investor Upfront has a long track record in the retail industry--the investor was one of the backers of Starbucks, just to name one--so it's no surprise that the company has made another investment in the sector today, in Deliv. Deliv is a Silicon Valley startup which provides a same day, delivery service for shopping mall retailers--allowing them to quickly offer products from their stores to local customers, for same day deliver. Ingram Micro Names New President, COO
Santa Ana-based computer, technology, and IT distributor Ingram Micro announced this morning that it has named Paul Read as the company's new President and Chief Operating Officer. Read was previously on the company's board of directors. Read had previously been CFO and EVP of Flextronics, and also had served at Allied Steel and Wire, STI Telecommunications and Associated British Foods. Read has resigned from Ingram Micro's board with the new role.

Microsemi Licenses Chip Encryption Tools
Aliso Viejo-based semiconductor maker Microsemi announced today that it has signed an intellectual property deal with Cryptography Research, Inc., for access to encryption technology and secure semiconductor intellectual property used to create tamper-resistant semiconductors. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Microsemi said the deal gives it access to Cryptography Research's technology which make chips "significantly more" difficult to emulate, clone, or reverse engineer. Micros (More info...)

Amgen, Onyx Pharmaceuticals Get Approval On Acquisition
Thousand Oaks-based Amgen and Onyx Pharmaceuticals said late Wednesday that the two have received early termination of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust waiting period for Amgen's acquisition of Onyx. Amgen announced on August 24th that it will pay $125 per share in cash, or roughly $10.4 billion, to acquire Onyx Pharmaceuticals, a South San Francisco-based developer of biopharmaceuticals to treat cancer.

MRV Gets Win In Pasadena
Chatsworth-based optical networking products firm MRV Communications reported a win with the City of Pasadena, saying that the city will be using the company's products to build a high-capacity, optical network. FInancial impact of the win was not announced. MRV said its products will be used to link the city's facilities of its own, fully-owned fiber infrastructure. MRV develops optical networking components and equipment.
