DoubleBeam Buys GoPago
Pasadena-based payment services provider DoubleBeam said Friday that it has acquired GoPago, a provider of e-commerce solutions for merchants and mobile payment products. Financial terms of the buy were not announced. DoubleBeam said that the deal will help it deliver a turnkey mobile commerce platform that includes an integrated POS system. Transphorm Raises $18M More
Goleta-based Transphorm, which is developing Gallium Nitride (GaN) power conversion technology which is far more efficient than existing power transformer technology, has raised another $18M in funding, part of an ongoing $20M funding round for the company. The funding was disclosed in a regulatory filing earlier this week. Details on the funding, which came from four investors, have not yet been announced by the company. National Technical Systems To Run iControl Testing Program
Calabasas-based testing and engineering services provider National Technical Systems will operate the testing lab for certification testing for iControl Networks, according to NTS. NTS said that iControl Networks has selected the company to operate its iControl OpenHome Partner Program Test Facility, which will be based at the NTS Advanced Technology lab in Culver City. Sorrento Therapeutics Completes Concortis Biosystems Buy
San Diego-based Sorrento Therapeutics has completed its acquisition of Concortis Biosystems, the company announced late Thursday. The deal was worth $11.3M. Sorrento said that the buy provides it with comprehensive antibody drug conjugate technology. Sorrento said the move will help complement its existing development programs. The acquisition had originally been announced in November.

textPlus Offers Up Free Holiday Calling
Marina Del Rey-based text messaging and calling app provider textPlus announced Thursday that it will offer up free, holiday calling to users through December 26th, as part of a big promotion. EdgeCast Wins Marketron
Santa Monica-based content delivery network provider EdgeCast Networks has scored a win with Marketron, a provider of website and other services to hundreds of radio stations. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. According to EdgeCast, Marketron has been using Edgecast to accelerate the delivery of dynamic content on over 500 radio customer websites, handling everything from videos, podcasts, to live streams.

DTS To Power New Sharp Phone
Calabasas-based audio processing technology provider DTS said late Thursday that its technology will be incorporated into the newest Aquos Phone product line from Sharp.
