Rubicon Project Rolls Google AMP Compliant Ad Software
Los Angeles-based Rubicon Project is making it easier for publishers to publish Google AMP compliant webpages, saying its FastLane header bidding solution is now accepted by Google for its mobile web project. Google AMP is a strict set of guidelines, issued by Google, which optimizes web pages for mobile browsing. FBI Drops Apple Lawsuit After It Hacks San Bernardino Shooter's iPhone
The FBI said in a legal filing on Monday that it is dropping its lawsuit against Apple, after its successfully access the data stored on the iPhone of San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook. According the filing, the Department of Justice is dropping the case against Apple, which had sought to force Apple to develop a method to allow the FBI to circumvent a feature which erases contents on an iPhone after ten incorrect password attempts. Sonos Loses Chief Product Officer, Says Report
Santa Barbara-based Sonos has lost its Chief Product Officer, Marc Whitten, according to reports this morning. Whitten--who had only been Chief Product Officer at the company for two years--had been in charge of the release of the PLAY:5 speaker and associated apps. Whitten had joined Sonos two years ago from Microsoft, where he had been Chief Product Officer and Corporate Vice President heading up that company's Xbox One efforts. Sonos had not yet announced any details on the departure.

Evercar Plans LA Expansion For EV Rentals For Uber, Lyft Drivers
Los Angeles-based Evercar, a company which is developing an electric vehicle sharing network--starting with Los Angeles--says it plans a major expansion in this market, and plans to add as many as 1,000 vehicles in the Greater Los Angeles area. According to Evercar, it currently has 43 vehicles in the Los Angeles area, including Downtown, West Hollywood, Santa Monica, Inglewood, and Marina del Rey. TrueCar Makes Major Changes As It Reaches Out To Dealers
Santa Monica-based TrueCar said over the weekend that it has made a major overhaul to its user experience, adding a number of features which specifically reach out to dealers, in addition to helping out its consumers. Glaukos Gets Approval In Japan
Laguna Hills-based glaucoma treatment developer Glaukos said today that it has received approval of its iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass Stent in Japan. The approval came from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW). Los Angeles-based pet sitting marketplace DogVacay says that it now has more than 25,000 pet sittesr on its platforms, who collectively have watched pets for "millions" of nights. DogVacay released the numbers as it just turned four. The online marketplace helps connect pet sitters and pet lovers willing to watch pets with other pet owners, and helps keep those pet owners informed of how their pets are doing with status updates and photos (1.2 million photos to date).

3D Robotics Shuts San Diego Office
Drone maker 3D Robotics, the high profile, consumer drone maker, has closed its San Diego offices and is now refocusing on the enterprise market, according to a number of reports. The shutdown of 3D Robotics' San Diego offices also sees the loss of 3D Robotics co-founder Jordi Munoz, who helped founded the drone maker in San Diego. The move reportedly comes due to a slowdown at the Berkeley-based drone maker, due to intense competition from Chinese drone makers DJI.
