Medsphere Systems Merges With ChartLogic
Carlsbad-based Medsphere Systems, the developer of open source electronic medical and health records software, is merging with another software provider, ChartLogic, the two said today. Financial details of the merger were not announced by the companies. ChartLogic, which is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, also develops electronics health records (EHR) software. The two said ChartLogic will become a separate division of Medsphere, and continue to operate under its own name.

Green Dot Gets Unwelcome Eye Of Senators After Debit Card Failures
Monrovia-based Green Dot, along with its partners, Walmart and Mastercard, are facing some unwelcome scrutiny from the Senate Banking Committee, after widespread issues last month getting access to money stored on their prepaid Mastercards. According to the NYTimes, the committee is looking into if there needs to be more consumer protections around the debit cards, which have become hugely popular with low income consumers, who do not have checking or savings accounts. Bridg Wins Pizza Chain Papa Murphy's
Los Angeles-based marketing software developer Bridg, led by Amit Jain, said today that it has scored a win with pizza chain brand Papa Murphy's. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Bridg said it is helping the pizza chain with its precision marketing efforts. Bridg uses data from point-of-sale systems, loyalty programs, and online ordering systems to help companies better market to and segment their customers, to help increase business from those customers. CrowdStrike Rolls Out Breach Prevention Bundle
Irvine-based cybersecurity services and software provider CrowdStrike said today that it has launched a new, bundle of software specifically aimed at breach prevention at companies. CrowdStrike said its new package bundles together Falcon Host, Falcon Overwatch and Falcon Intelligence, plus services pre- and post-breach response services, to help its customers protect their endpoints. Universal Robots Sets Up Headquarters In Irvine
Universal Robots, a Danish maker of robots for the industrial and medical markets, says it has set up a new West Coast headquarters in Irvine. According to the company, the new, 3,000 square foot plus base will help it expand local technology and sales support. The new office will be led by Craig Tomita. Ixia Adds Hyper-V, VMware vSS Support To Private Cloud Monitoring Tool
Calabasas-based networking testing software and hardware provider Ixia has added private cloud support to its CloudLens testing product, saying it has added support for both Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vNetwork Standard Switch (vSS) in the product.
