OWNZONES Media Network Names Chief Security Officer
Beverly Hills-based OWNZONES Media Network, a technology and entertainment company which provides products for the motion picture, television and digital content creation industries, says it has named Rob Hopps as Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Senior Vice President, Platform Operations. Sixgill Snag $27.9M
Santa Monica-based Sixgill, a developer of Internet-of-Things, sensor software, has raised $27.9M in a Series B funding round, the company said last week. The funding was led by DRW Venture Capital, and also included Mobile Financial Partners. Sensor is led by longtime tech veteran Phil Ressler, who previously has served at Bottlenose, Lumenz Networks, MyGreenlight, Big Stage Entertainment, Clearstone Venture Partners, and many other companies. Sonendo Gets $50M For Dental Technology
Laguna Hills-based Sonendo has received $50M in a growth investment, from private equity investor General Atlantic, Sonendo said this morning. According to Sonendo, the funding round also included existing investors Fjord Ventures, OrbiMed Advisors LLC, Meritech Capital Partners, CVF LLC, and NeoMed. SpaceX Dragon Returns Successfully From ISS
A SpaceX Dragon capsule--loaded with experiments, trash, and other assorted items from the International Space Station--has successfully splashed down in the Pacific, according to SpaceX. The SpaceX Dragon--which has been docked at the ISS for the last month--departed the ISS on Sunday at around 2 am, and finally returned to earth at 7:15 a.m. on Sunday morning. SRAX Names New Board Member
Los Angeles-based advertising technology developer SRAX has named a new member to its board, the company said this morning. According to SRAX, it has added Colleen DiClaudio to its board. DiClaudio is President of 340B Technologies, a healthcare technology company, and also has served at Complete Care Health Network and ChestPenn Health Services. SRAX says it now has nine board members. SRAX develops advertising automation software.
