Optical Communication Products Acquired

Woodland Hills-based Optical Communication Products, a manufacturer of fiber optic communications components, has been acquired in a $99M deal. According to Fremont, California-based Oplink Communications, the firm has signed a definitive agreement with Furakawa Electric Co., Ltd. to acquire a majority interest in OCP, which is a designer and manufacturer of fiber optical communications components. Oplink will pay $84M in cash plus 857,258 shares of Oplink common stock for the firm.
