    Prolacta Bioscience Appoints VP


    Monrovia-based Prolacta Bioscience, a venture-backed firm which supplies a milk fortifier for premature and critically ill infants, said earlier this week that it has named Ellen N. Cushing as VP of Sales and Marketing. Prolacta uses human milk to supplement the nutrition of infants, and are made from human donors. Cushing has previously served at Draeger Medical and Spacelabs Medical. Prolacta has received venture backing from Alta Partners, DFJ Frontier, Arcturus Capital, DFJ Mercury, Funk Ventures, Phillip Capital, Gideon Hixon Fund, and Draper Associates. The firm most recently raised $12M in funding in May.
