San Diego-based Qualcomm has named a new CTO today, saying that it has appointed Matt Grob as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. Grob has been at Qualcomm since 1991, and was previously leading corporate R&D and managing Qualcomm Corporate Engineering Services, which he will continue to do. Grob replaces Robert Padovani, who the firm says will remain as Executive Vice President.
