Santa Barbara Venture Partners Raises $11M Fund

Santa Barbara Venture Partners, a new venture capital fund led by serial entrepreneur Dan Engel, has raised $11M in its first investment fund. The company is aiming at investing in software-as-a-service companies in Southern California. Engel's early years were at Morpheus Software, Google (AdSense/AdWords), Picasa (Acquired by Google), and GoToMeeting, and he was the co-founder of FastSpring, which was acquired in 2013. Engel has been an angel investor in many local startups, prior to creating the new fund.
