    SMC Unveils ADSL2 Product Plan

Irvine-based SMC Networks (www.smc.com) has unveiled a new line of products targeted at the new ADSL2 market. SMC said that it will start shipping the ADSL2 Barricade, a Wi-Fi certified, ADSL router which provides both an 802.11g wireless access point with four 10/100Mbps Ethernet connections into a ADSL line. The company said that the product is currently being tested by major ISPs and will be available in Q4 of this year. ADSL2 and ADSL2+ increase the data rates and reach of existing ADSL standards.
