    THQ Buys Elephant Entertainment

Agoura Hills-based game publisher THQ said Tuesday afternoon that it has acquired Elephant Entertainment, a publisher of casual and online games. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. THQ said it plans to launch more than 20 new casual and online games under the Elephant Entertainment brand name in 2008, and that the business will continue to be led by Elephant Entertainment President and COO Wim Stocks. Elephant Entertainment will become part of THQ's ValuSoft casual games division. THQ also said it has inked a deal with Oberon Media to license Oberon's content for major gaming platforms, and where THQ and Elephant Entertainment will also provide retail support for Oberon's online casual game communities and download platforms.
