Newport Beach-based semiconductor foundry TowerJazz reported this morning that the firm has been awarded a contract from General Dynamics and the U.S. Air Force. According to TowerJazz, its USA Aerospace and Defense Division will support a contract focused on manufacturing large-die read-out-integrated-circuits (ROIC), which are being used in detectors, sensors, and imaging systems. The win is part of a General Dynamics contract supporting the MATES (MAnufacturing TEchnology Support) program for the U.S. Air Force. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.
