Umbra Space Ties With Ursa Space Systems

Santa Barbara-based Umbra, a developer of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) microsatellites says it has entered into a strategic partnership with another space company, Ursa Space Systems. According to the company, Umbra's advanced synthetic aperture (SAR) analytics products will be available through Ursa's suite of subscription and custom intelligence products. Financial details of the deal were not announced. The companies said that Umbra has been offering up its SAR imagery on Ursa since late 2022. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites are able to see through clouds, and are particularly good and picking up radar reflective objects on the ground, such as vehicles, ships, and buildings.
