BridgeCo Launches New Audio Silicon

Los Angeles-based BridgeCo, a provider of home audio networking chips, said at CES today that the firm has rolled out its third generation silicon and software. BridgeCo said its JukeBlox Networked Audio technology allows manufacturers to connect audio systems to home networks. The new chips will be available in sample quantities this quarter, with mass production in Q2; the firm said that it will make a software development kit and reference hardware platform available sometime this quarter. BridgeCo's chips provide processors, Wi-Fi support, and a software stack which is focused on networking of music, home computer, and network attached storage devices. BridgeCo is venture backed by Advent Venture Partners, Balderton Capital, Cipio Partners, Earlybird Venture Capital, ETV Capital, Fidelity Ventures, Intel Capital and Wellington Partners. The firm also has operations in Zurich, Switzerland.
