DivX, CinemaNow Team On Distribution
San Diego-based DivX and Marina Del Rey-based CinemaNow have teamed up to distribute CinemaNow's video on demand titles via the DivX format, the two announced today. According to the companies, they are in an agreement which will allow CinemaNow users ability to download premium content onto DivX enabled PCs, DVD players, mobile devices, and other consumer electronics devices. Financial terms of the deal between the two companies was not disclosed. DivX is a provider of video encoding and decoding technology; CinemaNow operates an online site that allows consumers to rent and buy Hollywood movies, TV shows, and music videos.
