DreamStart Labs, KEIPhone Partner On Phone Effort In Africa

San Diego-based digital banking service developer DreamStart Labs, and free smartphone provider KEIPhone said this morning that the two companies are partnering to offer up free, fintech-enabled smartphones to unbanked women in Africa. DreamStart Labs said its app will be pre-installed on every phone distributed by KEIPhone. DreamStart Labs said its app will offer up a way for unbanked women to save, invest, and access loans from the convenience of their phone. The two said the partnership will initially target 10,000 women in rural Uganda with expansion to other African countries planned for later in the year.
