Costa Mesa-based storage networking hardware manufacturer Emulex has scored a design win in a storage system from Pillar Data Systems, the company announced Wednesday. Emulex said that its InSpeed Embedded Storage Switch is being used in Pillar's Axiom storage systems. The Emulex InSpeed switch is used for Fibre Channel switching between disk drives and storage controllers, and are embedded into data storage products. Financial impact of the design win was not disclosed. According to Emulex, the win follows an earlier deployment of its switches in earlier Pillar storage systems.
