Emulex Ties Into VMware
Costa Mesa-based Emulex said today at the VMworld conference in San Francisco that it has released a new solution which combines its technology with networking products from Cisco, for the VMware virtualization software environment. Emulex said that the solution combines its LightPulse host bus adapters with Cisco's MDS Fibre Channel networking hardware specifically for use with VMware's software virtualization product. The product takes advantage of the N-Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) standard being developed by Fibre Channel manufacturers, which enhances the ability to manage traffic from virtual servers.
