Fender Music Buys Presonus Audio

Hollywood-based musical instrument manufacturer Fender Musical Instruments Corporation says it has acquired PreSonus Audio Electronics, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based brand which designs and manufactures recording and live sound hardware and software. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. PreSonus was founded in 1995 by Jim Odom and Brian Smith. The companies said Fender Musical Instruments Corporation was advised by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in the deal, with Presonus advised by Robert W. Baird & Co. and Butler Snow LLP.
