Fonality Releases New Software
Los Angeles-based Fonality has released a new version of the firm's trixbox PBX platform, saying this morning that the software has incorporated the latest version of the open source Asterisk PBX software. trixbox 2.4 is a beta release of the software, which Fonality said includes greater compability with hardware, and reduced install time, among with other enhancements. The firm said that general release of the package will be gated by stability in the Asterisk 1.4 code base, which the firm's trixbox software is based on. trixbox is Fonality's own version of the popular Asterisk Voice-over-IP PBX software, which is used by companies to deploy PBX services using off-the-shelf PC hardware.
