Carlsbad-based Life Technologies, a manufacturer of scientific equipment for the life sciences market, said Wednesday that it is in a definitive agreement to acquire AcroMetrix, a provider of molecular and serological diagnostic quality control products. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Life Technologies said the buy will expand its channel to reach molecular diagnostics customers. AcroMetrix was based in Benicia.
