StoneFly Signs Up Food Retailer
San Diego-based StoneFly said earlier this week that it has signed up Nancy's Specialty Foods as a customer of its IP-based storage networking technology. Nancy's, a manufacturer of gourmet foods, will tap into StoneFly's IP-based storage management and disaster recovery solution. The company will tap into the ability of the solution to provide synchronous campus mirroring for disaster recovery. MySpace Releases Online Music Album
Los Angeles-based online social networking site MySpace.com said yesterday that it has launched an online music album for the group "Queens of the Stone Age". MySpace offered streaming access to the new album to users of the MySpace.com service ahead of the album's physical release. DivXNetworks Adds X Software
San Diego-based DivXNetworks has signed on another software provider to its DivX video compression technology, this week adding X Software, a provider of DVD and video software. X will use DivX video compression technology in its newly launched Video Vault product, which allows consumers to archive their video library. The archiving software helps customers convert and organize their video library and compress them for playback on DVD players, portable video players, and wireless media servers. (More info...)

J.D. Power Starts IT Services Survey
Westlake Village-based consumer survey leader J.D. Power and Associates and the San Diego-based Service & Support Professionals Association (SSPA) said this week that J.D. Power is launching a program which will recognize excellence in Tech Support. J.D. Power, well known for its survey of automotive satisfaction, will identify top performing technology companies through process audits and customer satisfaction surveys. J.D.
