SiliconSystems Gets Investment From Samsung Ventures
Aliso Viejo-based SiliconSystems has received a Series C investment from Samsung Ventures, the company said this morning. Terms of the investment were not disclosed. SiliconSystems develops storage silicon for the enterprise market. SiliconSystems said that Samsun Electronics is SiliconSystems' primary supplier of storage components. SiliconSystems is backed by Miramar Venture Partners, Rustic Canyon Partners, and Shepherd Ventures.

Vivendi Games Buys Centerscore
Los Angeles-based Vivendi Games has acquired San Mateo-based Centerscore, a developer of mobile games. Financial terms were not disclosed. Vivendi said this morning that it will obtain the rights to Centerscore's portfolio of titles, which include Amy's Jigsaw Scrapbook, Amy's Hangman and Alone: The Horror Begins. Centerscore was founded in 2000 and develops wireless mobile games.

News Corp Buys Verisign's Jamba For $188M
News Corporation is buying VeriSign's mobile entertainment subsidiary Jamba, the companies said today, in a deal worth $188M. News Corp said it will combine VeriSign's Jamba subsidiary and combine it with Fox Mobile Entertainment assets, to form a new Los Angeles-based joint venture, which will also have operations in Berlin. Twistbox Raises $12.75M
Los Angeles-based Twistbox Entertaiment is announcing this morning that it has raised $12.75M in a venture capital round led by Spark Capital. The newly formed company will provide mobile web sites, mobile TV channels, and mobile games. Twistbox will become the parnet company of WAAT Media, an adult mobile conten firm, and Charismatix, a mobile games development company. Ian Aaron has also been named CEO of the firm. Charismatix develops J2ME, BRew, and DoJa wireless games.

Napster Ramps Up Free Music Player Promotion
Los Angeles-based Napster is ramping up the promotion of its music subscription service, saying today that it will now give away free 512MB flash music players to music fans who purchase three months of the company's Napster To Go portable music subscription service. Sennari Raises $10M
Sennari, a Cupertino-based firm that maintains a significant portion of its operations in Los Angeles, has closed a $10M venture capital round, the firm announced last week. The Series C funding was led by Mayfield, and included prior investors UV Partners, Novak Biddle, and Blacksmith Capital. SAIC Completes bd Systems Acquisition
San Diego-based Science Application International Corp. Central Desktop Upgrades Software
Pasadena-based web-based conferencing and wiki tool provider Central Desktop is releasing the latest version of its tools today, with the major addition of web conferencing tools to the service. Users of its software can now schedule and host real-time web conferences within its service, including free audio conferencing. Nokia, Warner Bros. Ink Content Agreement
Los Angeles-based Warner Bros. Digital Distribution is in a deal to allow its content to be distributed through Nokia devices, the companies said today. A dedicated Warner Bros. mobile content storefront will be embedded in Nokia's "COntent Discoverer client" which ships with NOkia's cell phones and handsets. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Dot Hill, ONStor Partner On RAID Storage
Carlsbad-based Dot Hill Systems announced today that it has entered into an OEM agreement with ONStor, a provider of clustered NAS systems. ONStor will use DOt HIll's RAID storage for its systems.
