Snap.com Rolls New Web Widgets
Pasadena-based Perfect Market Technologies, which operates the Snap.com search engine, announced a new web service Monday. The firm's new Snap Shots platform includes a renamed version of the company's Snap Preview Anywhere widget, which allows web sites to show previews of web sites before clicking on a link. Experian Acquires Inform@rketing
Costa Mesa-based Experian said Monday that it has acquired Inform@rketing, a Brazilian provider of direct marketing services. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Inform@rketing provides direct marketing to financial institutions, including database management, mailing list analysis, and marketing campaign management.

TG Publishing Merges With BestofMedia Group
Los Angeles-based TG Publishing, the firm behind Tom's Hardware Guide and other online publications, has merged with BestofMedia Group, the firm said today. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. TG Publishing provides online product reviews, news, and information focused on electronics enthusiasts, and competes with CNET Networks and IDG. BestofMedia Group operates computer hardware and technology focused sites in France and elsewhere.

Gemstar-TV Guide Launches Online Video Guide
Los Angeles-based Gemstar-TV Guide has launched an online video guide, at video.tvguide.com, that focused on both professional and independent video content. The firm said it will index videos from more than 55 major entertainment focused Web sites, an allow users to search for those videos using show names, descriptions, and keywords. Reunion.com Raises $25M
Los Angeles-based Reunion.com, an online service that connects adults with friends and family, said today that it has raised $25M in a venture capital round from Oak Investment Partners. Reunion.com said that the company is profitable and has previously raised $1.4M in angel funding from Jeffrey Tinsley, formerly of GreatDomains.com, Richard Rosenblatt of Demand Media, and Andy Mazzarella of eForce Media. Opticomm Acquired By EMCORE
San Diego-based Opticomm, a provider of fiber optic video, audio and data networking technology, has been acquired. EMCORE, a New Jersey-based firm providing semiconductor components, said today that it has acquired Opticomm for $4M plus additional earnout. According to EMCORE, Opticomm had revenues of $6.3M in 2006. Opticomm's products include transmission systems used for optical communications for commercial, governmental and industrial customers.

PureVideo Launches Online Media Guide
El Segundo-based PureVideo, the firm that operates the online video sharing site StupidVideos.com, said today that it has launched a new search engine and celebrity portal called HollywoodUpClose.com. The new sitewill include a multimedia search engine and aggregation of celebrity and entertainment news. The firm said that it also plans to launch other vertical sites this year based on the same technical infrastructure.

Nexsan, Plasmon Partner On Archiving
Woodland Hills-based Nexsan and storage archiving system Plasmon said today that the two have developed an archiving solution combining products from the firms. The two have integrated Nexsan's Assureon software with Plasmon's storage products. The new solution provides storage archiving, disaster recovery, and automated compliance and data management.

Cornerstone OnDemand Signs Customer
Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand has signed on a new customer, the firm said today. Cornerstone OnDemand said that Roebbelen Contracting has selected the firm's online learning and compliance management products. Size of the deal was not disclosed. Roebbelen is a general contractor serving California, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Cornerstone develops software used by human resources departments.
