Venture Vehicles Finds $6M
Los Angeles-based Venture Vehicles, a company developing a three-wheel electric and hybrid vehicles, has raised $6M in a Series A funding. The funding came from NGEN Partners. Steve Parry of NGEN joins the firm's board as part of the funding.

Visual Sciences, NetRatings Settle Patent Lawsuits
San Diego-based Visual Sciences, an online provider of web analytics software, said today that it has settled patent litigation between the firm and NetRatings. The companies have been engaged in a patent lawsuit since February of 2006, over technology used in web analytics services. According to Visual Sciences, it will pay NetRatings $9.0M, and that the firms have engaged in a non-exclusive, worldwide license to patents owned by each party. CardioNet Files For IPO
San Diego-based CardioNet has filed for an IPO, saying in a filing with the SEC Friday that it is looking to raise up to $150M in an IPO on the Nasdaq Global Market. The firm, which is looking to trade under the symbol BEAT, develops medical devices used for monitoring patient health and heart arrhythmia. The IPO is being underwritten by Citi, CIBC World Markets, and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. CircleUp Rolls Outlook Toolbar
Newport Beach-based CircleUp said today that it has made a new downloadable toolbar available for Microsoft Outlook. The firm said that the new software integrates the company's service with Outlook. CircleUp is developing a Web 2.0-style communications service that allows users to track answers from friends, co-workers, and groups for planning events, getting suggestions, and other information. PC Mall Buys IT Provider
Torrance-based PC Mall said this morning that it ha agreed to acquire SARCOM, an IT solutions provider, in a deal worth $55M. PC Mall, which sells hardware and software to businesses and consumers, said that the deal is made up of $47.5M in cash plus $7.5M in stock. According to PC MAll, SARCOM will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of PC Mall, and the deal is expected to close in Q3 of this eyar. Reunion.com Connects With ZoomInfo
Los Angeles-based Reunion.com, the online website focused on connecting users with families and friends, said today that it has partnered with ZoomInfo. According to the companies, ZoomInfo will expand Reunion.com's search results with profiles of people and businesses; the deal is expected to help users to find more information on people through ZoomInfo's web crawlers. Epicor Expands In Latin America
Irvine-based Epicor Software, a provider of business software, said today it has inked new alliances in Chile and Columbia to expand its presence in Latin America. the provider of software used for enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, and customer relationship management said that it has linked with Technology Coast Partners (TCP) in Chile, and Ability Data in Columbia, to offer its products to those companies. QLogic Gets IBM SVC Certification
Aliso Viejo-based QLogic announced this morning that it has certified the firm's enterprise-class Fibre Channel switches with IBM's popular storage virtualization product, IBM SAN Volume Controller. QLogic, which manufactures equipment used to network storage products with servers, said that the certification included its SANbox 9000 Series and SANbox 5600 Fibre Channel switches. Orange, California-based 8e6, which develops web filtering software, said today that Luis Curet has been appointed as VP of Sales. Curet joins the firm from Clearpath Networks, where he was a Senior Vice President. Curet has also served at Rainbow Technologies and IBM. 8e6 develops web filtering software used by companies to control access to the Internet; the company also provides security threat management products.
