Siimpel Gets Investment From Motorola
Arcadia, California-based Siimpel has received an investment from Motorola's venture capital arm, Motorola Ventures, Motorola said Wednesday. Motorola said that Motorola Ventures made an equity investment in Siimpel, but did not disclose the amount of the investment round. Siimpel is a developer and manufacturer of microelectromechanical (MEMS) devices for mobile phones. Gorilla Nation Signs Marvel.com
Los Angeles-based online advertising rep firm Gorilla Nation said today that it has been selected by Marvel.com, the online web site of comic book publisher Marvel, to exclusively represent its online ad inventory. Gorilla Nation said that Marvel has 21 million page views per month. Gorilla Nation sells advertising to Fortune 500 advertisers, and is venture backed by Great Hill Partners. The firm just raised $50M in a funding round in May.

Sonos Unveils New Products, Partnership
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, which develops wireless multi-room music systems, unveiled several new products yesterday plus a partnership with Best Buy. The firm said that it has added a new product called the Sonos ZoneBridge, which helps route information between the firm's Sonos ZonePlayer digital music playing units; the new hardware extends the range of its wireless mesh network. Language Weaver Expands In Europe
Los Angeles-based Language Weaver, a firm developing software for automated translation, said Tuesday that it has expanded in Europe with another office. The firm said that it has opened a new office in Paris, which will be the company's second in Europe. Language Weaver has hired Emmanuel Tonnelier as Sales Director for Southern Europe as part of the new office. Language Weaver also has an office in Belgium.

Nexiant Selected By Battery Manufacturer
Irvine-based Nexiant, a provider of systems used to manage manufacturing inventories, said today that its systems have been selected by Saft America, a designer and manufacturer of batteries for industrial applications. Financial details of the win were not disclosed. Nexiant said that Saft will use its Smart Inventory Manager, Nexiant Secure, and Nexiant Select dispensing products in its Georgia plant. Entropic Ships Chipset
San Diego-based Entropic said yesterday that it has shipped a new version of the firm's digital media chipsets, which are being used by electronics manufacturers for broadband access hardware. The new chipset can be used by telecom, cable, and satellite operators to provide their customers with coax-based premium services, and support the new MOCA 1.1 standard from the Multimedia Over Coax Alliance. Memeo Signs Bundling Deal With WD
Aliso Viejo-based Memeo, a provider of software for managing and backing up files, said Tuesday that its LifeAgent product will be bundled with hard drives from WD. the firm said its AutoBackup and AutoSync software will be offered as part of WD's My Book and Passport storage products. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Memeo is venture backed by G51 Capital.
