Epicor Completes NSB Retail Acquisition
Irvine-based Epicor Software has completed the firm's acquisition of NSB Retail Systems PLC, the firm said Thursday. The deal was worth $322M, and was originally announced in December. NSB Retail Systems PLC is a provider of software for the retail market. Epicor Software is a developer of software for the enterprise business market, and is used by companies in the manufacturing, distribution, retail, and hospitality market.

AeroVironment Inks $45.8M Contract With US Army
Monrovia, California-based AeroVironment, a firm which develops unmanned aircraft systems, said Thursday that the firm has been selected for a $45.8M contract. The firm said that the U.S. Army has ordered additional RQ-11B Raven UAVs and services from the firm. The orders came as part of an extension of an existing contract. AeroVironment's Raven is a 4.2 pound unmanned aircraft system used for reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition.

International Rectifier Names CEO
El Segundo-based International Rectifier, a manufacturer of power management ICs, said Thursday that it has named Oleg Khaykin as President and CEO of the firm. Khaykin joins the firm from Amkor Technology, where he was Chief Operating Officer. Khaykin replaces Donald Dancer, who has been serving as acting CEO since August. According to International Rectifier, Dancer will continue to be involved with the company to support Khaykin in his new role. Khaykin has also previously served at Conexant (More info...)

WooMe Raises $3M More
Los Angeles-based WooMe, the online dating and introductions web site, is announcing today that it has received $3M in a bridge funding round from the firm's prior investors. The round was led by Mangrove Capital, and also included Atomico, and European investor Klaus Hommels, along with Oliver Jung. WooMe also has offices in San Francisco and London. Kyocera Wireless Names Division VPs
San Diego-based Kyocera Wireless, a manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones, said today that it has appointed a number of Vice Presidents in its Consumer Products Group. Kyocera named Brian Richardson as the firm's divisonal Vice President of Engineering in its COnsumer Products Group; Cheri de Lacy as VP of Strategic Planning; and Eric Anderson as VP of CPG Sales. Networks In Motion Gets Patent
Aliso Viejo-based Networks In Motion, a provider of location-based services and wireless navigation services, said today that it has been issued a U.S. Patent. The firm said Patent No. 7,321,826 covers features which have already been brought to market in its mobile phone navigation and local search applications. Acacia Hires Engineering VP
Newport Beach-based Acacia Research said today that it has named Jeffrey Anderson as Vice President of Engineering. Anderson has previously served at Websense, Sun Microsystems, and Cray Research, among other firms. Acacia Research acquires, develops, and licenses a large portfolio of patents, which it aggressively licenses to other companies.

Digital Insight Partners With Fidelity National
Calabasas-based Digital Insight, which provides online banking services to banks and credit unions, has signed on Fidelity National Information Services, a provider of processing services for financial institutions as a partner. Fidelity National Information Service said earlier this week that Digital insight will offer the firm's Premium Bill Pay and Presentment product to its clients. Xencor In Deal With Human Genome Sciences
Monrovia, California-based Xencor and Human Genome Sciences said Thursday that they are in an agreement where HGS will make an upfront payment and additional payments and royalties to Xencor. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however HGS said that Xencor will receive both the upfront payment, as well as development and commercial milestones, and royalties on any products commercialized under the companies' agreement.
