Newegg Names New CEO
City of Industry-based Newegg, an online electronics retailer, said today that the firm has shuffled its executive staff in a major change. According to the firm, Tally Liu, current President of the firm, has been promoted to Chairman and CEO of the company. Liu replaces Fred Chang, one of Newegg's founders. According to the firm, Chang will continue to serve on the firm's board and executive committee, as well as President of Newegg's China operations. NovaDigm Therapeutics Raises $4M
Torrance-based NovaDigm Therapeutics, a stealth biomedical firm developing vaccines and therapeutics for the treatment of infections, has quietly raised $4M in funding. Backers of the firm include Domain Associates; it also appears that the firm has previously received funding from KPCB Pandemic and Biodefense Fund from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. The funding amount was disclosed in quarterly funding numbers from the PricewaterhouseCoopers/NVCA MoneyTree survey earlier this month.

Nirvanix Hires Executive To Focus On Entertainment
San Diego-based Nirvanix said Wednesday that it has hired on Ezra Davidson as its new Managing Director of Media Entertainment Services, focused on the entertainment industry. Nirvanix, which provides storage-as-a-service for Internet and other companies, said Davidson will report to the firm's VP of Sales, Daniel Havens. Leap Wireless, FIM Sign Content Deal
San Diego-based Cricket Communications, a wireless service provider owned by Leap Wireless, and Fox Interactive Media said this morning that they are in a content distribution agreement. Details of the agreement were not disclosed, but the firms said that the deal will enable Cricket customers to access FIM's portfolio of web sites. Cricket is an flat-rate, unlimited wireless service; FIM's web sites include MySpace, Photobucket, and other properties.

MySpace Names Five VPs
Los Angeles-based social networking site MySpace announced today that the firm has appointed five new VPs at the firm. MySpace said that it has hired Manu Thapar as SVP of Engineering; Angela Courtin as SVP Marketing, Entertainment, and Content; Tish Whitcarft as SVP of Customer Care; Jason Oberfest as VP of Business Development; and Abe Thomas as VP of Online Marketing. Autobytel Launches New Lead Program
Irvine-based Autobytel, which operates an online automotive marketing service, said Wednesday that it has launched a new service called Autobytel LeadCall. The new service, targeted at automotive dealers, helps dealers schedule appointments with prospects. According to Autobytel, the move will help its dealer customers by efficiently moving Internet customers into dealerships for appointments. Gorilla Nation Signs Kids Site
Los Angeles-based online advertising rep firm Gorilla Nation has added a new customer for the kids gaming market, the firm said Wednesday. The firm said that it has been selected as the exclusive worldwide rep for Zeeks.com, an online kids gaming site which is owned by Kaboose Inc. D2 Technologies, AMCC Link Products
Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a developer of embedded software, said Tuesday that the firm has made its VoIP software available on AMCC's PowerPC 405EX processor. D2's embedded software is used by developers to develop wireless access points, residential gateways, and other broadband equipment. AMCC's PowerPC 405EX is a processor targeted at the embedded computing market, which also features specific VoIP telephony features.
