Hulu Rises In Video Rankings
Hulu, the online video service which is a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corp., saw a big bump in viewership, bringing it into the top 5 video sites, according to the latest traffic rankings from comScore. According to comScore's Video Metrix data from February, Hulu climbed into the number 4 position in terms of viewers in the U.S., after extensive exposure from the firm's Super Bowl ad. MySpace Music Names Execs
Los Angeles-based social networking web site MySpace said Tuesday afternoon that it has named three executives for the firm's music community, MySpace Music. According to the firm, it has hired on Jamie Kantrowitz as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Global Marketing, Alex Maghen serves as Chief Technology Officer, and Nancy Taylor as Lead Counsel. Gizmo's Robertson: Skype SIP Support "Vaporware"
Michael Robertson, the former founder of MP3.com and head of San Diego-based voice-over-IP firm Gizmo5, is calling Skype's new SIP support "vaporware," saying today that his firm is unveiling version 2.0 of its working, OpenSky hosted SIP service today. BP Logix Reports Wisconsin University Win
San Diego-based business process automation and reporting software maker BP Logix revealed Tuesday that a prominent Midwestern university has adopted BP Logix's workflow management application. The financial impact of the customer win was not disclosed. Global Care Quest Acquired By Medical Device Maker
Aliso Viejo-based Global Care Quest, a maker of systems for delivering digital medical information, has been acquired by medical device firm Karl Storz Endoscopy-America. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to Karl Storz, the acquisition actually occurred on October 7, and made Global Care Quest a new business unit of the firm. ActionAllStars.com In Partnership With Candystand
Marina Del Rey-based ActionAllStars.com, which develops virtual worlds for kids from six to 14 years old, said this morning that it has linked up with Candystand.com, an online gaming and entertainment site. Interpolls Signs Twentieth Century Fox
Los Angeles-based Interpolls, a provider of rich media advertising technology, announced this morning that Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is using the firm to promote the Blu-ray and DVD release of "Slumdog Millionaire." Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Interpolls provides interactive ads to its customers. The firm said it will power a two-week online campaign for Twentieth Century Fox.
